Project summary:

A major urban utility company sought to increase the reliability of their aging HPFF pipe-type cables by using a composite reinforcement solution. These high pressure feeders were situated in a tunnel where they are exposed to high humidity and water runoff. Advanced FRP Systems provided a fully structural, 6-layer carbon fiber composite system capable of withstanding greater than 1,000 psi of internal pressure. The composite reinforcement system will stop further corrosion and eliminate dielectric fluid leaks in the repaired areas.
