Project summary:

Inspectors at a water treatment plant found a severe active leak in one of their pipes, in an area that included flanged connections, valves, clamps and pipe supports. After the pipe was taken out of service and drained, applicators sandblasted and applied putty to smooth the repair area. The entire pipe section, including the flanges and clamps, was wrapped in six layers of carbon fiber and an epoxy topcoat was applied. The pipe was returned to service after only three days.
